I Feel Like A Princess...An Edgy Princess

So yes, lately I have been feeling like a Princess!

Well, at least on the inside.  As I get these feelings throughout the day, I smile.  Literally, this is what happens when you wear what I have been wearing.

Another thing I have to mention is,

I HATE PINK!

I do.  I dislike the colour pink, highly!  Even as a buyer of a boutique, I don't like it, I can't buy it.  Especially baby pink.

Baby pink is for babies.

Sorry if this offends anyone.  I see it as a personality thing.  Colour choices and how you wear said colour choices can say alot about a person.

I don't think I have worn pink since I was a baby.  I don't know if I have ever worn pink....I'll have to check my baby pictures.

Swedish Hasbeen pink is different.

It's quirky cool. 

And because they are clogs, there is a bit of KICK ASS to these pink loafers.  Ballet slippers they are not.  Walking down the street with a purpose shoes, they definitely are!

Lately, we've realized that half our wardrobes seem to be borrowed from the boys. We're talking oversized button-downs, baggy trousers, supersized watches, and oxford lace-ups, to name a few pieces we currently can't live without. Apparently we girls want to have it all—and wear it all—so it's no surprise that we're repurposing yet another menswear-inspired item for our own stylesetting agendas: the boyfriend coat. And who can blame us? There's something delightfully powerful about slipping into a big semi-slouchy coat, plus this oversized outerwear option is surprisingly practical, as it allows for all sorts of cozy layering as the weather turns colder. Exhibiting masculine touches—such as large pockets, traditional patterns, and a double-breasted shape—yet fit for the feminine frame, boyfriend coats are the perfect replacement for last year's puffer, making them the winter-wonderful item you must Go Buy Now!

In case you need convincing that this cool coat should be your next big-ticket purchase, we'll take a closer look at some of the collections that brought this trend into the limelight. Seen at the F/W 10 shows of some of our favorite French fashion brands—most notably Chloe, Vanessa Bruno, and Kenzo—boyfriend coats were used to deftly execute two distinct sartorial scenarios. In the first, designers embraced androgyny and paired these coats with menswear basics to conjure up an au courant Annie Hall. An ideal example of this is our featured Kenzo look, for which designer Antonio Marras used a cherry-red boyfriend coat to accent a cropped, wide-leg Pantsuit and even finished off the ensemble with a masculine Hat for a quirky, unisex outfit that's a lovely mix of late-seventies inspiration and cutting-edge style. In the second, boyfriend coats were utilized in contrast to decidedly more feminine pieces, like silky blouses or wool mini skirts, resulting in a sexy I-slept-at-my-boyfriend's-and-stole-his-coat aesthetic. While the latter example is more traditionally alluring (and is often paired with bedhead hair), the former still exudes a sense of confidence that is surprisingly sexy, which means that this outerwear option is a thrillingly versatile pick!

Now that we've given you a quick rundown on all the ways in which to wear this piece du jour, we'll turn our attention to the stars of today's story: the actual coats themselves! Hey Everyone!
First off, I must apologize for some posts that some great photos are not showing up!  Sorry.  Blogging from my IPhone, I guess, is an issue.  I will figure that out soon.  Hopefully you all don't think I am a bit weird/crazy!  Just a little bit.

Yesterday I met a blogger.  Yes, I actually met a blogger in person!  That hasn't happened to me before.  I read alot of blogs.  I follow alot of blogs.  But I have never met the owner/writer of a blog.  I guess there still a first time for some things.

This blogger, Schmutzie, was looking for some great, stylish shoes to wear when she goes to the BlogHer Convention in New York City.  How exciting to meet a blogger in person and then one that is very serious about blogging and has attended the BlogHer Convention for the last 3 years.  So back to the shoes......well, when I am walking a city or working/walking for many hours, like when I buy for Aria Boutique, I wear El Naturalista shoes.  They are lifesavers!  Really.  Unbelievably, good for you, your back, your feet, and STYLISH to boot!  So Schmutzie selected the most stylish El Naturalista's that I have on hand at the moment, the Tesela N742, in black with the double ankle strap.  These have a great little heel and the SHOCK ABSORBERS in the El Naturalista's are what saves us.  I think Schmutzie will do just fine in NYC in her chic El Naturalistas!  Hoping to see photos....if you are reading this Schmutzie.

All About Feet

Hey! Isn't summer sweet?! It really is all about our feet. Agree? It's so nice not to wear socks for a change. Even though I am a sock addict, nice/good socks are hard to find. I love to look at my feet in the summer and not because I think they are nice, far from it, but you get to wear pretty shoes and breath! So throw off the socks paint your toes and toss on some great sandals, or in my case this morning my Ed Hardy flipflops that are extra spongy and my now favourite new but old looking !IT Jeans Hottie Luv jeans that I cut the hem off and washed them so they would fray & look well worn. Shabby Chic

You do what you do. You love your job or not love your job. Moments of tranquillity come and go. Let's say that whatever happens in your day happens. You get home. What do you do? Put on your most fav comfort clothes? Hangn clothes. I started to think about these things this evening. Agree or not agree, but I am a smoker. I don my favouites: Blue Life sweat pants, ca va de soi cashmere sweater that I accidentally ruined (it's May 20-still wearing cashmere), Koolaburra Heart & Soul boots, & my DDP khaki long trench. A picture of beauty! Grab my glass of vino and head to the sunroom to watch the rain and well have a cigarette. I suddenly feel at peace with an old friend. This trench is like an old friend. It is amazing when you buy something so perfect for yourself, the piece almost speaks to you. It says, ''see, you know who you are. You are great. You are completely comfortable in yourself, your body''. These pieces make you smile, they say welcome home. Shopping is not such a bad thing. Let it guide you to yourself. You will not become a shopaholic. You will know exactly who you are and what you want after a few pieces. My DDP Trech does this for me every time I zip up it's long zipper. Agree? How do you feel about this?

plane just in time to see one of my favourite Quebec designers, NADYA
TOTO! Thanks to my assistant, Marie Charles, for getting me there on
time.

Fat Days!

Hello All!  I know I just usually post about the items in my online store, which is kind of what I am going to do now but will give a good reason for this soon.

I can't seem to get motivated to exercise on a regular basis these days....don't know if it is just the after Christmas blahs or what?!  Actually, I haven't exercised regularly for awhile.  I must admit.  Is it all the work I am doing?  The cooking, caring, driving of two teenagers?  I seem to exercise one day and swear that this is it my mojo is back and I will be so dedicated.  I feel great and then a week later I realize that I haven't worked out for a whole 7 days!

So today, my Fat Day, feeling the same....soft....bumpy... I put on my Collection Iris Navy Flannel Pants (hi-waisted and a bit of a wider leg) and my Collection Iris Extra Fine Merino Sweater (thin but not clingy) and not only did I feel better but I looked like I was fit.  Well, the clothes fit me perfectly.  I smiled.  I smiled because it is so nice when clothing is cut for a woman and cut very well in the finest of fabrics.  So my unexercised body and I walked out of the house, head high, and off we went to work. 

Talking to a regular customer today, she says Tammy have you lost weight!  Not that losing weight is important to me, fitness and health are, I felt redeemed by choosing the right clothes for me today!
